What we collect

  • Account data. Your email address and display name, used to sign you in and identify your reviews or business listing.
  • Business listing data. Everything an owner enters (address, hours, menu, photos) is published deliberately and publicly.
  • Location. If you tap “near me”, your browser shares your position with your device's permission. It is used in your browser to sort results and is not stored on our servers.
  • Analytics. Only after you accept the cookie banner, we use privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible) which does not use cookies or track you across sites.
  • Follows. If you follow a business, we store that so we can email you the evening before it's at a market or event. The business sees how many people follow it, never who. You can unfollow, or turn the emails off, from any reminder email or your Following page.
  • Feedback. When you send feedback we store your message and the page you were on, plus your browser type if you're reporting a bug. If you're signed in it's linked to your account; if not, we only have the email you choose to leave. Only Bakemap admins read it.
  • Ideas. If you vote on an idea we store your vote so you can change it. Everyone sees the totals, never who voted which way. Now and then we may email you an idea to vote on; you can turn these off from any of those emails or your Following page.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We store the fact that a purchase happened and the consent you gave at checkout.

Where your data lives

Data is stored with Supabase (Postgres) and served via Vercel. Email is sent through Resend.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account from the dashboard at any time, and business owners can delete their listing there too. Deletion is immediate and permanent (hard-deleted, not archived). You can also email us via the contact page.
