What is a cake shed?
A small shed, hut or table at the end of someone's drive, stocked with home baking: traybakes, brownies, cakes and loaves, sometimes eggs and jam too. Many run on trust, with an honesty box or a card reader on the shelf.
They don't keep shop hours, and the good ones sell out early, especially at weekends. That's why owners on Bakemap flip an Open now / Sold out switch from their phone, so you can check before you drive over. Take some cash in case there's no card reader.
Run one of these, or know a place that's missing? Add a business (it's free), or tell us about it.
